Bees have always been a rather special part of our lives. Bees provide nutrients and honey for us making them a major factor in our biosphere. For some of us, we see bees as attackers and threats. But those people lack the understanding of how important bees are to our society and how, in reality, they're keeping us alive. At this moment, thousands of bees are dying off because of the little amount of care they receive. For example, usually when people see beehives they'll do what they can to get rid of it, not understanding how terminating a beehive could affect us. Because this conflict isn’t known by many, majority of human aren’t taking action and would kill a beehive if they saw it. Since many people around the world continue to slaughter beehives and kill them off, eventually the population of bees will be very near to extinct and by then it's too late. If bees were to in fact go extinct, we would lose not just valuable resources such as honey, we will lose the majority of wildlife because of no pollination for many plants. One very simple yet important way we can prevent bee extinction is by planting more gardens around to provide the bees the resources they need to keep not only them alive but also us alive.
Since all bees need flowers to pollinate and produce honey, without the pollination, fruits and vegetables would be non-existent. When groups and groups of bees are constantly dying, people don't act or plain and simply care because it doesn't affect their lives. It's certain that occasionally there's sections and articles about bee populations are decreasing extremely fast yet when it comes to reading the articles, people could care less. People will only take notice when survival takes the fall. At the moment, I am under the thoughts that there should be at the least televised alerts that let people know the crisis in which the population of bees are in.
Every moment of the day, thousands of bees are dying off. Humans are unaware of the current crisis. If the problem with bees were televised then people will start to understand the dangers that will arise if we don't establish a connection with the bees. People won't care or act until we are losing our precious fruits and vegetables. "Queen of the Sun" has changed my point of view towards bees and has allowed me to realize were not keeping them alive, they're keeping us alive.
